Michael Orozco and Lobos BUAP broke out of their slump as they secured a win over Queretaro to stay in the race for a playoff spot in the Clausura.

Lobos BUAP 3-1 Queretaro

Lobos scored three unanswered goals after falling behind early to take all three points in their comfortable win over Queretaro at Estadio Universitario BUAP.

Orozco started the game for Lobos in central defense, playing the entire 90 minutes.

The Puebla-based team had started the Clausura positively but found themselves in a slump as they had gone winless in their previous four games and conceding 11 goals in the process.

And it looked like they were on their way to extending that streak to five games when the visitors opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the contest. Ayron Del Valle ran onto a pass from teammate Alexis Perez and the Colombian forward's shot from outside the box beat Lobos goalkeeper Jose Rodriguez.

However, the host fought their way back and leveled the score in the 24th minute through Michaell Chirinos with his own long-range effort that took a deflection off a Queretaro defender.

Lobos would then take the lead in the 53rd minute as Leonardo Ramos headed in a long cross from Jose Esquivel.

Yago Cesar rounded out the scoring for Lobos in the 87th minute as he dribbled from midfield before slotting his shot past Queretaro goalkeeper Nicolas Navarro.

The win moves Lobos up to 10th place in the standings with 10 points.
