INJURY RULES OUT PULISIC
EXTRA TIME
KENYA BROWN - Friday, January 10, 2020
Christian Pulisic has been ruled out for a "few weeks" due to an abductor injury he suffered during training, said Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard on Friday.

Lampard informed reporters of the 21-year-old's status at a press conference ahead of the English Premier League team's game against Burnley. He picked up the injury before the Blues' FA Cup third round game against Nottingham Forest in which they won 2-0.

"It is a damaging miss. Before Christmas he did report a bit of tiredness so he came out of the team and I was worried about him picking up an injury. He was in pain when it happened. He's a good player that provides competition in wide areas and can make things happen. He was in good form for a period," said Lampard at the press conference.

After starting at the beginning of the season and then playing sparingly afterwards, Pulisic rounded into form near the end of October as he bagged his first-ever hat-trick in their 3-0 defeat of Burnley. Since that time he has become an integral part of the Chelsea first team.

The Pennsylvania native, who signed with the Londoners last year from Borussia Dortmund, will join the injury list alongside Marcos Alonso and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
