EXTRA TIME
KENYA BROWN - Tuesday, June 16, 2020
Sergino Dest and Giovanni Reyna have joined a very special club as it was announced on Monday that the pair were named on the Golden Boy Top 100 list.

The list, which was unveiled by Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport, selects the top young players across the European continent, with the award being handed to the winner at the end of the year.

Dest has made a name for himself since being promoted to the first team of Dutch Eredivisie team Ajax in the 2019-2020 season. He has gone on to make the right-back position his own as he went on to play in 36 games in the shortened season, scoring two goals and adding six assists in all competitions.

The 20-year-old's performances have not gone unnoticed as he has recently been getting attention from some of Europe's top teams such as Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. He also scooped up his first personal accolade as he was named Ajax's Young Talent of the Year.

Giovanni Reyna has also captured the headlines as he was promoted to the first team of German Bundesliga team Borussia Dortmund at the start of this year.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder has played a big part in BVB's push to contend for the league title this season, as he's provided a spark off the bench to lift the team. He's s shown glimpses of what he can do as he scored a brilliant goal in the German Cup and provided the game-winning assist in the Champions League game against PSG.

So far, Reyna has appeared in 16 games this season as he continues to work for his first-ever start.

Both Dest and Reyna have been put on the list with the likes of Erling Haaland, Alphonso Davies, Vinicius Junior, and Ansu Fati.
