Antonee Robinson had another strong performance for Wigan Athletic as they claimed another win while Tim Ream and Fulham's struggles continued in the English Championship.

Wigan Athletic 2-0 Blackburn Rovers

Two late goals in the second half saw Wigan Athletic come away with the three points over Blackburn Rovers at DW Stadium to push them further away from the relegation zone.

Antonee Robinson started the game for the Latics and went the distance as he showed once again he back to full fitness following treatment for an irregular heart rhythm.

It was tight for a majority of the game as neither side had any clear-cut chances at goal. However, that all changed in the final 10 minutes when the host took the lead.

Robison's cross into the area from the left side gave Blackburn problems as goalkeeper Christian Walton collided with one of his defenders. The ball fell to Lee Evans and he blasted his shot on the underside of the bar before it crossed the goal line.

Rovers came close to leveling the score, but Wigan put the final nail in the coffin in the 94th minute when Joseph Williams' long ball found Michael Jacobs at midfield. The substitute then streaked towards the goal to slot his shot past Walton to guarantee his team the win.

Wigan has moved up 17th place in the standings with 47 points.

Leeds United 3-0 Fulham

Fulham's struggles since play restarted following the Covid-19 pandemic continued as they suffered a bad loss to leaders Leeds United at Elland Road.

Tim Ream started the game for the Cottagers and played the full 90 minutes as their push for automatic promotion took a serious dent in this game.

Trouble started for Fulham just 10 minutes into the contest when Helder Costa pounced on a poor pass before crossing the ball to Patrick Bamford, who steered the ball home from just inside the area.

Things would just go from bad to worse for the visitors in the second half when Leeds doubled their lead in the 56th minute when Jack Harrison's cross from the right side rolled past several Fulham defenders before Ezgjan Alioski slotted his shot past goalkeeper Marek Rodak.

Harrison, formerly of NYCFC in Major League Soccer, rounded out the scoring for the host in the 71st minute when muscled his way past his marker to poke his effort across the line.

Two defeats in two games for Fulham and it looks like they'll have to prepare themselves for a tough playoff push if results do not go their way in the final seven games of the season.

Fulham sits in fifth place in the standings with 64 points.

Notes

In other action in the Championship, Cameron Carter-Vickers had a very good outing for Luton Town as they came away with the 1-0 win over Swansea City. The team is now three points back from pulling themselves out of the relegation zone.

Matt Miazga started for Reading while Duane Holmes played the final 20 minutes for Derby County in the Rams' 2-1 win. Miazga was given a red card at the end of the game for his altercation with Thomas Lawrence.

Geoff Cameron played 71 minutes for Queens Park Rangers as they fell to Charlton Athletic in a 1-0 defeat.
