Philipakos in Most debut
World renowned specialist Dr. Ulrike Muschaweck has completed a successful 'Minimal Repair' procedure to finally correct a misdiagnosed sports hernia on American midfielder Peter Philipakos.
Muschaweck, founder of the Hernienzentrum clinic in Munich, has added Philipakos to her ever-growing client list which includes Michael Owen, who scored for England eight days after the same procedure last month.
"I am relieved that we knew what my injury was, that we fixed it, and that I should be back soon," the Most midfielder told YA. "Dr. Muschaweck was amazing and I trust she'll have me back on the field soon. I gotta thank my agent for pushing to send me to Germany to get looked at by her."
Philipakos, who originally was injured in preseason, was initially diagnosed with a torn adductor muscle which kept the New Yorker out until September when he finally made his debut against UEFA Cup squad Mlada Boleslav.
However, the appearance reaggravated the uncorrected problem, which eventually led to several further misdiagnoses before agent Tobias Schade brought the former Olympiakos attacker to Germany.
"Pete started running on Monday, did some light work with ball today, and he's right on schedule," Schade told YA. "We really hope that we've finally found the solution for his problems and that he can finally help Most to earn some points."
"There are no games this weekend, so he will be using the international break to get fit again."
