RICH FIDLER - Friday, January 23, 2009
American Kamani Hill is currently on trial with German third division club FC Erzgebirge Aue.
"He will be training with us until Monday," Erzgebirge press chief Peter Höhne told YA,. "Then we'll consider it after that."
The Violets were relegated to the 3. Bundesliga following a disappointing 2007-08 campaign which saw them finish in 16th place, six points short of of safety.
With the German season still in its midseason break for another week, Hill will have the chance to impress his perspective coach in a friendly game on Monday.
"We have a test game against Cottbus II on Monday, and it is possible that he will play."
The club is managed by German Heiko Weber and finds its place in Aue, Saxony - mere minutes from the Czech border. Their home stadium is 16,000 seat Erzgebirgsstadion which was built in the former East Germany in 1950.
The former UCLA Bruin is currently under contract with VfL Wolfsburg of the German Bundesliga.
He has not made an appearance with the senior team since 2007 and appears to have lost a place in the club all-together having disappeared from the VfL Wolfsburg II roster.
