Freddy Adu and Quentin Westberg won't see the field for another week, while Carlos Bocanegra and Rennes take on league leaders Lyon fresh off their Champions league draw with Barcelona.
Lyon – Rennes
This weekend, Stade Rennes and Carlos Bocanegra travel to face league leaders Lyon on match day 26 of Ligue 1 in the hopes of repeating their 3-0 home performance back in October.
Ten points behind their weekend opponent, les Rouge et Noir currently sit in seventh place in the standings. With their title hopes all but dashed, a spot in Europe next season is the target.
Three points this weekend against league leading Lyon, who sit six points in front of second place PSG, would help them keep pace with the elite in France after a disappointing start to the new year.
After a hard fought midweek, Champions League draw against Barcelona, Karim Benzema and company will have to refocus to preserve their domestic league lead.
While Lyon have no injuries to report, Rennes will be without the services of Jerome Leroy due to a knee injury. Sylvain Marveaux will miss the game with a thigh injury but will welcome back Moussa Sow from suspension.
Though boasting perhaps Ligue 1's most formidable defense, Carlos Bocanegra and Rennes have lost two of their last five matches after going nearly four months without defeat.
The American left back and his fellow teammates from Brittany will hope to regain some momentum with a win against the best France has to offer on Sunday.
Freddy Adu will not dress for Monaco when his club plays host to AS Saint-Etienne on Sunday.
Quentin Westberg will watch from the bench as les Troyes do battle against Lens in Ligue 2 action
