ANDREW VORCE - Wednesday, January 6, 2010
Freddy Adu will be the latest American acquisition by Greek Super Liga club Aris FC, with the move being completed earlier today.

The young American has found it difficult to make his way in Europe since his venture over from MLS, coming up empty handed with every loan move. Adu will be joining the club on an 18 month loan deal that includes a buy option.

The 20 year old says he is eager to put the disappointment of the last two years behind him and quickly make an impact in Thessaloniki.

"I will be joining the team tomorrow," Adu confirmed to Yanks Abroad. He later made the public statement that "A lot of thought and research went into this [decision]."

The Maryland native is not the only Yank to recently join the Greek club as former Kansas City Wizard Eddie Johnson was brought in on loan from Fulham earlier last week.

Adu was also quick to add that the prospect of forming an attacking duo with Johnson made his decision to join Aris all the more attractive.

"Of course I am excited to play with Eddie Johnson," grinned Adu.

Adu and Johnson could have their chance at action when Aris host Iraklis on Sunday.

End of the line, Adu. This is really important for your career, in fact, it is the last club that will take you in Europe. So figure it out. And I challenge you to not twitter until you score a freaking goal. (Not gonna happen, but should be the priority).
