Michael Hoyos came on as a late second half substitute as Estudiantes de La Plata returned to its winning ways by dismantling San Lorenzo at home Sunday night in Clausura action.

Hoyos, who has been quickly moving up the depth chart, entered the game in the midfield in the 77th minute for Jose Sosa and filled in nicely during his short time on the field.

Estudiantes jumped all over the visitors from the start, notching a goal in the second minute. Jose Sosa beat his defender on the wing and then sent in a perfect cross to Mauro Boselli who calmly finished past Pablo Migliore.

The home team continued to press hard the remainder of the half and finally got their reward in the 44th minute via a brilliant Juan Veron goal. The veteran midfielder made a great individual run before blasting a shot from the right side of the box to the far post.

San Lorenzo showed signs of life early in the second half, but the night would belong to the home team as they closed out a much deserved 2-0 victory.

Hoyos will hope to continue to find playing time when Estudiantes travels to face Independiente next Sunday.
