Halmstads BK has added its second American this winter with the signing of midfielder Michael Thomas to a contract for the 2010 season.
Thomas had been on trial with the Swedish club for a couple weeks where he partcipated in several preseason matches.
The play exhibited by the Olathe, Kansas native was enough to earn him a contract offer which his representative says was finalized earlier today.
"Michael Thomas has signed a contract with Hamlstads," confirmed Thomas' agent, Eddie Rock of Libero Sports, to YA. "It is a one year deal. He has been with the club the last three weeks and he has a bright future ahead of him."
Thomas becomes not only the second yank to join the Allsvenskan club, but also the second former Notre Dame standout to wear a Hamstads jersey as fellow Fighting Irishman Ryan Miller also joined the team at the beginning of January.
Both Miller and Thomas begin their 2010 Allsvenskan campaign on March 14th when Hamlstads hosts Trelleborgs.
