ANDREW VORCE - Thursday, February 25, 2010
United States Men's National Team head coach Bob Bradley has released a roster of 20 names for next week's friendly in Holland on March 3rd.

Yanks Abroad will be there at Amsterdam Arena where Bradley and company will suit up against the Netherlands in a match scheduled to air on ESPN2 and Galavision.

The roster has some surprise inclusions of the 16 based European players including Eddie Johnson who is making his return after joining Greek club Aris Thessaloniki.

Alejandro Bedoya of Swedish club Orebro evidently impressed enough at last month's camp to garner another nod while Frank Simek returns to national team action for the first time since 2007.

Jonathan Bornstein, Heath Pearce, and Robbie Findley are the three current MLS based players while Jose Francisco Torres of Mexican club Pachuca also makes the roster.

Making the final cut is DaMarcus Beasley who returns to the national fold after struggling with playing time and injuries. International and club teammate Maurice Edu will also be on the roster, his first game back for the US since damaging his knee last May. Below you can view the full roster:

Guzan, Brad Aston Villa (England)

I would take Adu over Findley, Beasley, and Johnson. A solid roster overall, but to beat Holland the US will need some creativity in the midfield. That being said, I would like to see Torres get some playing time. I realize he is coming off an injury so he may not be in top form, but he has the composure to run the midfield.

All Adu can do is to continue to find the back of the net. Hopefully, Bradley will take notice (if he isn't already).

Why does Bornstein still get called up? He is not even serviceable at best as a defender.

Thank goodness Ching didn't make it. I was fretting that after he scored a goal he would suddenly be back in the mix.

Eddie Johnson, who is riding pine in Greece, over Adu who is playing? Hasn't Johnson had enough failures at the National Team level to stop calling him up?

If the World Cup roster looks like this we are going to be suffering. No Dempsey, Gooch, Cherundolo, Davies. I know they are injured and there is still over 3 months, but look at the holes everywhere. We are missing our best Forward, midfielder and one of the best defenders. I am now officially scared. We need a little luck with injuries to make it out of the group.

Add the injured Dempsey, Onyewu, and Davies and this is probably close to the WC roster. Probably swap Cherundolo for Simek, Clark for Bedoya, and Ching for Findley.

I think that Bob Bradley is quite possibly freaking retarded! He's giving spots to Beasley and Johnson (and Findley who looked injured against El Salvador) but not Adu who's playing well? So what we need against the Dutch are a bunch of guys that can't actually control the ball and just bang it up the field instead of a few that can maybe maintain possession? What a joke! Players switch national team allegiances all the time, can we switch till the US hires a coach that can pull his head out of his butt?!!?

The roster is not bad. But I'd give Adu a chance as well.
