GRELLA SIDELINED WITH HAMSTRING INJURY
EXTRA TIME
ANDREW VORCE - Thursday, March 11, 2010
Leeds United striker Mike Grella has been forced to the bench temporarily after sustaining a hamstring injury.

The American has missed the last two games for the League One club who currently sit second in the league standings.

With a number of star strikers on the squad, Grella's appearances have all been from the bench, but his most recent setback had not been revealed by the team raising questions as to why the former Duke University standout had not seen any action of late.

"[I] got a scan [yesterday]," Grella explained to Yanks Abroad. "It's a hamstring tendon. [It's a] minor injury, and I should be back in training next week hopefully."

The New York native has done well with his time earned in Leeds' semi-final run in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, scoring goals and helping the Whites reach that stage before going out on penalties.

Grella has appeared in 24 matches this season in all competitions, scoring five goals and registering one assist.
