PREVIEW: MIDWEEK ENGLISH ACTION
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
ANDREW VORCE - Monday, April 5, 2010
Mike Grella is set for another start for Leeds who have let their early season lead slip, as Zak Whitbread's Norwich could put a foot into the door of promotion and relegate Jemal Johnson's Stockport with a win as English action heats up.

Yeovil - Leeds

Luciano Becchio missed Saturday's heavy handed defeat to Swindon due to a concussion, making way for Mike Grella in the starting line up for Leeds.

Grella may be ousted if the Argentine returns to fitness. On-loan Arsenal player Sanchez Watt could make his debut for Leeds, while Ben Parker earned his recall after making his first appearance since opening day of the season.

Yeovil will be boosted by the return of Gavin Williams, who returns from a three match stint on the sidelines with a red card, while JP Kalala will be tested late for fitness. Sam Williams is the last Glovers injury concern, as the target man struggles with a knee injury.

Southampton - Leyton Orient

Eric Lichaj looks to continue in the Leyton Orient starting lineup but will have a rough test against tenth placed Southampton.

Wayne Thomas and Morgan Schneiderlin look to overcome a torn calf and hamstring injury, respectively, in order to face Orient. Lee Barnard is pushing for a start while Graeme Murty is out with a ankle injury.

Geraint Williams and Orient parted ways after their 3-1 loss to Hartlepool, leaving the club without a head coach. Sean Thornton will be out after picking up his tenth yellow of the season, while Stephen Purches is a doubt with a torn calf.

Walsall - Wycombe

Jon-Paul Pittman looks to push for a start for Wycombe who need a big win away at Walsall.

Troy Deeney is out for Walsall as he was shown straight red in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Stockport, however Mark Hughes is returning after his time on the sideline for a red. Matt Richards could make a return in the back, but Peter Till is definitely out with a hamstring injury. Clayton McDonald spends his last match on the side after receiving a red.

Julian kelley went down just 18 minutes into Saturday's 2-1 loss to Huddersfield, with Lewis Hunt out with a groin strain. Alan Bennett is out for the season, as Leon Johnson is out with a hip injury. Lewwis Spence and Ian Westlake remain the last two Wanderers out of Gary Waddock's squad.

Norwich - Stockport

Zak Whitbread will be on the bench as Jemal Johnson's Stockport come to Carrow Road.

Fraser Forster is a forced change after being sent off in Norwich's 3-1 defeat at Tranmere in the tenth minute. Korey Smith and Chris Martin could return to the starting line up, while Cody McDonald overcomes a thigh injury. Jens berthel Askou is the last player out, sidelined with a foot injury

David Perkins is an injury concern for Gary Ablett after limping off in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Yeovil. Stockport remain rock bottom and the trip to League leaders could seal their fate to relegation into League Two.

Notes

Jay DeMerit is an injury concern ahead of Watford's home test against West Brom.

Frank Simek will be on the bench for Sheffield Wednesday who host Bristol City.

Kenny Cooper will look to make an impact off the bench when Plymouth host Middlesbrough.

Devann Yao will not be on the Ipswich bench at Derby.

Seb Harris will be on the bench when Northampton take on Torquay.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
