PREVIEW: WEEKEND MEXICAN ACTION
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
WOODY BAUM - Thursday, April 22, 2010
Jose Francisco Torres and Pachuca will make their final playoff push on Saturday while Marco Vidal and Indios will play their last game in the first division before absorbing relegation.

Tigres – Pachuca

Pachuca will finish off the regular season when they visit Monterrey to take on Tigres on Saturday.

Pachuca will need to win and hope that both America and Atlas do not win in order to make the Liguilla.

They will be taking on a Tigres squad coming off two consecutive victories and playing their strongest soccer of the season.

This game will be one of Torres' final opportunities to make his case for making the U.S. national team, and as a consistent starter, he should have the opportunity.

However, fellow American Edgar Castillo is still injured and will most likely not make the squad for Tigres.

Pachuca will be without Dario Cvitanich who is suspended and Paul Aguilar who is with the Mexican national team.

Tigres will be without Everton Cardoso and Antonio Sancho whom are both injured.

Indios – Pumas

Indios will finish their season against a Pumas squad hoping to maintain its spot as first in their group.

Indios' relegation is now a foregone conclusion and the Ciudad Juarez squad will be playing for pride.

Marco Vidal, who has played well and started every game since week one, will look to make his final start of the season.

The Dallas native will be tasked with shutting down a Pumas offense led by Francisco Palencia.

Indios will be without Jair Garcia, who is suspended and Daniel Frias, Arturo Alvarado and Javier Malagueño whom are injured.

Efraín Velarde and Fernando Morales will be out for Pumas with injuries. Israel Castro, Efrain Juarez and Pablo Barrera will be training with the Mexican national team and unable to play as well for the visitors.

Notes

Sammy Ochoa will look to take the field as a second half substitute on Friday when Estudiantes takes on Atlante.

Herculez Gomez will be suspended and will not be able to win the outright BiCentenraio scoring title when Puebla take on Toluca on Sunday.

Isaac Acuña will look to make the field for America when they take on Santos on Sunday.
