RICH FIDLER - Friday, April 30, 2010
Helmond Sport reversed roles on Thursday evening, scoring two away goals in the first half and winning the game and playoff series in penalty shots after extra time couldn't determine a winner.

Johan Voskamp struck in just the fourth minute when American Charles Kazlauskas swung a ball in to the penalty area that Helmond's leading scorer flicked over the goalkeeper to the far post. Kazlauskas went the full 120 minutes in the victory.

The home team would level the score just 15 minutes later when Fabio Caracciolo rifled home a bouncing free kick in the area off the bottom side of the crossbar, stunning the visitors.

Voskamp would score his second of the game in the 35th minute. Official Ed Janssen spotted a handball in the area and immediately pointed to the spot. Voskamp slammed the ball down the middle after Den Bosch goalkeeper Brahim Zaari guessed the wrong direction.

Following two periods of extra time, the game would come down to the penalty spot - unfortunately for the home team defender Jordens Peters missed the lone penalty and Marc Höcher converted to send the visitors onward in the Jupiler League playoffs.

Helmond will face off against Sparta Rotterdam, the team sitting in 16th place in the Eredivisie, at home next Thursday May 6th before traveling to Het Kasteel for the away leg.
