Mikkel Diskerud's Stabaek humbled Hunter Freeman and a Clay Goodson-less Start while the other yanks in Norway watched from the sidelines in a special slate of Monday games in Norway.

Stabaek 3 - 0 Start

Mikkel Diskerud and Stabæk boast three Eliteserien wins in a row following their victory over Hunter Freeman and IK Start at Ullevaal Stadion on Monday.

Diskerud started at left midfield and aided in the home attack for a full 90 minutes as Freeman did his best to stop Stabæk from a Start defensive line that struggled without the presence of Clarence Goodson, who is in the States with the US men's national team.

Before the first goal, Start fell into even further defensive trouble when Goodson's replacement, Bård Borgersen had to be subbed out due to a ligament injury in his knee.

The home squad took full advantage of the defensive hole when Daniel Nannskog scored the first goal of the game in the 32nd minute. A cross from left back Bjarni Ólafur Eiríksson landed at the feet of a sliding Nannskog who fired the ball into the upper 90.

Less than a minute later, Start responded as their own left back, Rolf Daniel Vikstøl sent a low cross to Espen Børufsen whose aim was too high and sent the shot flying over Jon Knudson, who was waiting at the near post, and the crossbar.

Knut Tørum's offense, whom lead the Eliteserien with 24 goals, played uncharacteristically creating a mere four scoring opportunities throughout the 90 minutes.

Thirty mintues after his first goal, Nannskog scored again with a first time strike off an Espen Hoff ball. The 62nd minute off-footed goal sailed into far post from the top of the 18 and past Iven Austbø who had replaced Knudson due to injury.

With five minutes to play, Stabæk would not relent as a Veigar Páll Gunnarsson corner sparked a series of headers that ended in the third goal.

Gunnarsson send the corner far post to Jan Tømmernes who headed it back across the net to Jon Inge Høiland. A straight on header from Høiland just three yards out sealed the fate of the game.

Stabæk continue to slowly climb the Eliteserien rankings and now sit at seventh with Start right behind them in eighth.

The 14th round of Eliteserien play lands Stabæk at Sandefjord on June 6th and Start at home in Kristiansand hosting Viking on June 7th.

Notes:

Neither Steve Clark nor Kenneth Di Vita Jensen saw playing time in Hønefoss' 2-0 win over Brann at AKA Arena.

FC Lyn goalkeeper Tyrel Lacey is still in recovery from knee surgery and did not play in the 3-1 away loss to Bryne.

Goalkeeper Colin Burns did not see the field as his team, Sarpsborg, defeated Sandnes Ulf 3-1 at home and currently sit at third in the rankings.

Joe Bendik watched from the bench as the reserve netminder as Sogndal won 1-0 against Bodø/Glimt at home.
