PREVIEW: WEEKEND FINNISH ACTION
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
BRI-MATHIAS HODGE - Friday, August 13, 2010
Only one yank is expected to be in action this weekend as summer fades away in Finland and the Veikkausliiga enters the homestretch.

VPS - FF Jaro

Greg Eckhardt could see action from the bench when VPS take on local rivals Jaro on Monday evening at Hietalahti in the season's second edition of the Pohjanmaa derby.

VPS' new signing Osahon Eboigbe, a Nigerian striker, could see his first action in Finland as the Vaasa club try to bounce back after three straight league losses.

Head coach Tommy Pikkarainen will be reluctant to start Jussi Äijälä who picked up a knee injury last weekend, though tests have shown no long-term injury.

VPS is currently tenth in the Veikkausliiga table while Jaro is fifth.

Goalkeeper Brian Pope is out long-term for VPS with a shoulder injury.

Notes

Daniel Antunez came out of last weekend's tilt with an injury and will have to watch from the stands as Inter take on TPS in the Turku derby Sunday at Veritas Stadium.
