The yanks in Finland face a long winter layoff as the Veikkausliiga season came to a close this weekend.

MyPa 2 - 2 VPS
Greg Eckhardt was a ninety minute man for VPS on Saturday away at Saviniemi.

The guests got on the board after just 11 minutes through a Valtter Laaksonen strike off of a Pekka Kainu pass.

MyPa answer through Maxim Votinov after 35 minutes, but he gave the goal back just four minutes later, sending one into his own net.

Pele Koljonen scored the hosts third goal of the night just three minutes after halftime to send everyone home with a share of the spoils.

Yank keeper Brian Pope missed the entire season for VPS with a shoulder injury.

Vaasa ended the Veikkausliiga season in 10th place, a point, and a spot, behind MyPa.

IFK Mariehamn 1 - 2 KuPS
All three Åland yanks got the start in the final game of the season, as they fell at home to Kupio at the Wiklöf Holding Arena Saturday.

Lamar Neagle started up top and had a couple of early chances but was replaced after 63 minutes by Sebastian Strandvall. Both Mason Trafford and Giuseppe Funicello went the distance in defense for the hosts.

Mason Trafford got on the board first, but unfortunately it was for KuPS as his 28th minute own goal gave the guests a halftime lead.

Dudu doubled the lead on 77 minutes with a little help from Ilja Venäläinen.

Tamas Gruborovics pulled back a late consolation goal for the islanders two minutes before the final whistle

Mariehamn just avoided the relegation playoff, finishing in 12th place, one point ahead of JJK while KuPS finished the season a surprising second to champs HJK.

FC Honka 1 - 1 FC Inter
Daniel Antunez got the start and went 90 minutes Saturday in Espoo as Honka locked up a Europa League spot with the tie.

The game was scoreless until the 78th minute when John Weckström sent a ball into the box for Jaako Lepola to knock home from 10 yards out to give the hosts a lead.

Inter were quick to respond as Antunez was able to set up Kennedy Nwanganga for the equilizer two minutes later.

Inter finish the season in 6th place while Honka grabbed the fourth spot.
