Atlas 1 2 Pachuca

Pachuca gave their playoff chances a boost with an important road victory over Pachuca on Saturday.

Jose Francisco Torres regained his starting stop, playing 90 minutes, while Marco Vidal entered in the 77th minute for Dario Cvitanich. Herculez Gomez did not play.

Torres also picked up a yellow card during the match.

Atlas took the lead in the 28th minute from a blast by Alfredo Moreno from the top of the area.

However, Pachuca tied the game in the 31st minute when Daniel Manso sent in what appeared to be a center from outside the area.

The shot ended up curving towards the goal and caught Atlas keeper Pedro Hernandez off his line in an incredible goal.

Pachuca took the lead in the 73rd minute when on a breakaway, Dario Cvitanich lofted a shot over the keeper from outside the area.

The win keeps Pachuca mathematically able to qualify for the playoffs although their chances are continue to be slim.

Toluca 1 2 San Luis

San Luis recovered from their midweek loss to America by defeating a tough Toluca team in Toluca on Sunday afternoon.

Michael Arroyo gave San Luis the lead early in the third minute when he struck a beautiful ball from outside the area that beat Toluca keeper Alfredo Talavera.

Arroyo scored his second of the game in the 53rd minute when Othoniel Arce managed to dribble into the area and pass to an open Arroyo six yards off the goal line.

Arroyo's blast from close by left Talavera with no chance.

Toluca managed to pull to within one off a well-placed free kick from Antonio Naelson in the 69th.

However, the home team was unable to score the tying goal in the final minutes of the game.

Edgar Castillo continues to push for playing time, entering in the 67th minute and seeing the field for the second consecutive game.

Notes

Sammy Ochoa did not play in Estudiantes' loss to America on Sunday.
