Defender Clarence Goodson will have a new home come 2011 after inking a multi-year contract with Danish giants Brøndby IF.

Goodson is on the verge of wrapping up his third season with Norwegian Eliteserien club IK Start and will join Brøndby as a free transfer in January.

The native of Virginia helped Start achieve promotion from the 1. Division following the 2008 season and was considered one of the top defenders in Norway's highest level the past two season/

Paired with compatriot Hunter Freeman on Start's back line, the American duo helped form one of the more aggressive and attacking-style defenses in all of Scandinavia.

The US international joins a Brøndby club that currently sits in third place in the Danish Superliga and is a regular participant in European competition.

The former FC Dallas man's new deal will keep him on the west side of Copenhagen through 2014.

"Clarence signed a three-year contract on Wednesday," confirmed Brøndby media spokesman Mikkel Davidsen to YA.

In three seasons at Start, Goodson appeared in a total of 63 matches and scored ten goals.
