Eugene Starikov started and went the distance again for FC Tom Tomsk who where shut out by Anzhi Makhachkala at Dinamo Stadium in Anzhi on Saturday.

It was the third straight start at striker for the Russian-American who was unable to prevent his team from being dragged back into the relegation discussion.

The game's lone goal arrived in the 24th minute when Anzhi's Ali Ibrahim Ibra Kb fed a pass to Igor Strelkov who stroked it home.

That was all part of a first half that saw two other Anzhi goals disallowed by the referee.

Starikov's afternoon was mostly quiet with very few opportunities arising for the Siberians.

Tomsk head coach Valeriy Nepomnyashchiy must now go back to the drawing board to ensure a win next week at home against Alaniya Vladikavkaz.

Tomsk are current in tenth place in the 16 team RPL but are just five points above the relegation zone with a mere three matches to play.
