The American trio of Jose Francisco Torres, Herculez Gomez, and Marco Vidal continue their march toward the playoffs with an important home win.

Pachuca 2 – 1 Queretaro

Pachuca's improbable push for a playoff berth took another step forward as they defeated Queretaro at Saturday.

With the win coupled with Toluca's improbable loss to Estudiantes, Pachuca have moved into third place in their group and now occupy the last remaining playoff spot.

Jose Francisco Torres started again in the midfield, playing the entire 90 minutes.

Pachuca quickly took the lead in the ninth minute when Dario Cvitanich's header connected on a free kick from Daniel Manso.

However, Queteraro tied the game when Adrian Romero headed in a rebound in the area from in front of the goal line in the 25th minute.

Pachuca had the opportunity to take the lead again in the 53rd minute when Edgar Benitez' penalty kick hit the cross bar.

Nevertheless, the Tuzos regained lead on an own goal from a corner kick in the 60th minute.

Shortly after, Herculez Gomez entered in the 70th minute. Marco Vidal did not play.

With the victory, Pachuca are one more win away from securing a playoff spot.

They will face Necaxa on Friday.

Sammy Ochoa did not play in Estudiantes' victory over Toluca on Friday.

Edgar Castillo entered in the 90th minute of San Luis' tie to Santos Laguna on Saturday.
