DUSTIN BECK - Friday, December 3, 2010
Charles Kauzlauskas and Helmond Sport will look to gain another important three points and exact a bit of revenge when they are visited by Veendam this Friday.
Kauzlauskas, a stalwart at right back for Helmond, will hope to match his goal scoring preformance from the last time these two teams met.
The thirtysomething Milwaukee born defender is expected to preform his usual duty and start again on the backline.
Kauzlauskas has scored twice previously against Veendam. The most recent coming in a KNVB Cup match on September 22.
The American opened the scoring that day in the 40th minute but the lead was short-lived as it was answered in the 47th minute. The match went into extra time where a game winning strike came with just six minutes left to eliminate Helmond.
Helmond will look to even the score this Friday, and keep up in the league standings. Currently Helmond trails third place RKC Waalwijk by only three points as the midway point of the Eerste Divisie season approaches.
Veendam has won their last two matches and are playing well at the moment. They took their last match against Almere City with a couple of late goals including an own goal in the 77th minute that gave them the lead. They are slowly making up the ground they lost before the season started.
Veendam had to start the season with minus four points for being in category three financial status when the season began and taking out a local contingency loan.
