CHAD WINGER - Monday, December 13, 2010
The United States Soccer Federation have announced a friendly contest with Egypt in Cairo on February 9th.
African champion Egypt will host the rematch of the Father's Day 2009 contest in which the Americans dispatched their counterparts 3-0, leading to the semifinal contest with Spain and eventual final against Brazil.
The only previous match with the Pharaohs was a June 1987 contest played at a neutral stadium in Seoul, South Korea - also a US victory.
Egypt, currently ranked 10 in the FIFA rankings, are three-time reigning African Cup of Nations champions, winning the most recent edition of the tournament in Angola.
The match will be the second for the USA in 2011, the first coming against Chile on Saturday, January 22, at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
