JOHN KRETLOW - Monday, January 3, 2011
Conor Doyle and Derby have a quick tyurnaround with a contest at home versus Millwall while Brad Guzan seeks his first win at Hull City.

Derby County – Millwall

Conor Doyle hopes for playing time as Derby County takes on Millwall.

Doyle started and played the full ninety minutes for the Rams tie against Preston North End this weekend.

Coach Nigel Clough made several changes in Derby's last game and could well do the same Monday, especially given the quick layover.

Dean Moxey returns for Derby after a one-month suspension.

Millwall's Steve Morison is battling with the flu and is questionable for the weekday affair. Alan Dunne will serve the second game of a three game suspension. Paul Robinson and Danny Shittu both could miss due to hamstring injuries.

The Rams are hoping to jump Millwall in the standings with a win on Monday and reach site of a promotion playoff spot.

Hull City – Portsmouth

Brad Guzan looks to get his second start for Hull City as they take on Portsmouth.

Guzan played his first game for the Tigers this last weekend and is expected to start against Pompey.

Hull are coming off a forgettable performance against Leicester City and would like a win to separate themselves from the bottom half of the Championship standings.

The Tigers look to be without Liam Rosenior who was sent off with a straight red last weekend. Midfielder Richard Garcia will miss as well due to surgery on his knee that will keep him out for a month.

Portsmouth are coming off a 3-0 loss to Watford and are also looking to garner up some momentum to separate themselves from the bottom half of the standings.

Greg Halford will miss for Pompey because of a red card suspension. Danny Webber is sidelined with a knee injury while Michael Brown and Richard Hughes will miss due to contractual problems.

Norwich City – Middlesbrough

Zak Whitbread and Norwich City take on Middlesbrough in a weekday Championship clash.

Whitbread made his first start of the season on New Year's Day and he hopes to feature once again against Middlesbrough.

Norwich coach Paul Lambert will have to decide if he wants to use the center back after only two days rest, especially considering the American's long absence prior to their last game.

City's Elliot Ward will miss due to a calf injury while Henri Lansbury' hamstring will sideline him as well. Andrew Surman will also miss because of a knee problem

Boro's Scott McDonald could miss up to a month because of international duty with Austrailia. Kevin Thomson is doubtful after hurting his calf in their last game.

They will also be without Jonathan Franks who is recovering from a hernia. Stephen McManus will also miss because of an ankle injury while Willo Flood is sidelined due to a knee problem. Rhys Williams's pelvis and Matt Kilgallon's back will keep them from playing as well.

Carlisle United – Tranmere Rovers

Frank Simek and Mike Grella hope to help Carlisle United against Tranmere Rovers in League One play.

Simek is expected to start for the Cumbrians while Grella could get the start as well after going 58 minutes in their New Years day tie to Huddersfield Town.

Carlisle look to be without Ben Marshall who was forced out of their weekend game with an injury. Sean McDaid, Tony Kane and Danny Livesey are all long term injuries for the Cumbrians.

Tranmere's Liam Darville could miss because of a head injury while Marlon Broomes will miss because of suspension.

The Cumbrians are hoping this game could separate themselves from the middle of the pack and gain some momentum for a playoff spot.

Tranmere desperately need some points to stay out of the relegation zone.

Anton Peterlin and Plymouth take on Bristol on Tuesday.

Jemal Johnson hopes to feature in Milton Keynes Dons' game against Yeovil on Monday.
