ANDREW VORCE - Tuesday, January 11, 2011
Jonathan Spector will look to retain his starting spot in the West Ham line up as they take on Birmingham in the first leg of the Carling Cup semifinal.

Hammers Benni McCarthy and Herita Ilunga will be unlikely to return from injury in time while Lars Jacobsen remains out with a heel issue. Manuel Da Costa and Thomas Hitzlsperger look to return in February while Anthony Edgar and Patrick Kurucz are out long term with knee injuries.

Birmingham's only player out is James McFadden who is carrying a knee injury and is still sidelined for another month with rehab. The visitors just put four past Millwall in the FA Cup and will look to continue on their goal scoring ways. Lee Bowyer will serve his final match on the sidelines after receiving a red card.
