CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON - Thursday, January 13, 2011
Carlos Bocanegra will be the only American in action this weekend in France with St. Etienne needing to solidify three points against lagging Lens.

RC Lens – AS Saint-Etienne

Carlos Bocanegra and company look to rebound into league action following a disappointing thumping from the Coupe de France at the hands of Clermont.

Although currently sixth in the Ligue 1 standings, Christophe Galtier's men can pressure the top spot with a win at Stade Félix-Bollaert on Saturday evening.

Bocanegra can expect to bolster the defense against the mildly productive Lens attack, who have managed a meager 17 goals in 18 games.

Also coming off a French Cup loss to Paris St. Germain, the northerners are having an otherwise dismal season, knee-deep in relegation with 16 and a win from safety.

Lens youngster Abdelhakim Omrani has entered the roster for the benched defender Yohan Démont, while striker David Pollet and defender Alaeddine Yahia remain on the injury list.

Yoann Andreu continues his recovery for the Stéphanois, but striker Boubacar Sanogo could see a return to Galter's gameday roster. Defender Moustapha Bayal will make a return from a yellow card suspension.

Charlie Davies did not make the gameday roster for Sochaux, as they head to the capital to face Paris St.Germain

Quentin Westberg was also left off the Evian roster for their clash against OC Vannes.
