BLACKBURN CONFIRM JONES LOAN
EXTRA TIME
BRIAN SCIARETTA - Tuesday, January 18, 2011
American midfielder Jermaine Jones is headed to Lancashire for the remainder of the season after Schalke 04 and Blackburn Rovers reached a loan agreement for the US national teamer.

Jones, 29, has a Germany passport and does not need a work permit and international clearance is expected to be a formality.

"This morning it was all sorted from a domestic point of view for a loan until the end of the season but Rovers are still awaiting international clearance," confirmed the assistant of Blackburn Rovers Press Officer Paul Agnew to YA on Tuesday. "As far as we know that's still the case."

For Jones, it will mark the first time he has played professionally outside of Germany after playing for Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen, and most recently Schalke 04.
