DUSTIN BECK - Tuesday, January 25, 2011
Oguchi Onyewu and FC Twente remain in second place in the Dutch Eredivisie standings after a come-from-behind victory at Euroborg Stadium in Groningen on Sunday.

Washington D.C. native Onyewu went the entire 90 minutes while picking up a yellow card in the 43rd minute.

Twente used another great performance from Austrian striker Marc Janko, as he recorded both goals for FC Twente after his huge four goal outburst on Wednesday against Heracles.

Both teams took turns early in the match but couldn't find the back of the net. The scoring finally started in the 33rd minute when a cross from the right sideline found Slovenian striker Tim Matzv making a near post run. Matzv took the pass and redirected it with a beautiful backheel past a hopeless Twente keeper into the far corner.

Twente answered the goal just seven minutes later when midfielder Wout Brama whipped in a cross to a cluster of Twente players who had all crashed the Groningen penalty box. The cross found the leg of Brazilian defender Douglass who kept the ball alive for Janko who then pounded it home in the left corner from just outside the six yard box.

The decisive goal didn't come until the 82nd minute. Second half substitute Theo Janssen booted a left footed cross to the back post that found a charging Marc Janko, who managed to get a high left footed deflection on it and direct the ball past the Groningen keeper for the late winner.

The two teams combined for seven yellow cards on the day with Ivens, Holla and Kieftenbeld receiving them for Groningen and Landzaat, Janko, Chadli and Onyewu receiving them for Twente.

FC Twente remains one point behind league leader PSV Eindhoven. Twente will get a chance to take the league lead though, as they host PSV in perhaps the biggest game of the year in the Eredivisie on Wednesday.
