Maurice Edu was a second half substitute for Rangers who upended Hibernian on Wednesday night in Scottish Premier League action at Easter Road in Edinburgh.
Edu came on in the 66th minute for forward Vladimir Weiss as Rangers already held a two goal lead.
With the win, the Light Blues avenged their previous 0-3 defeat to Hibs back in November in a match that saw Edu stretchered off with a knee injury.
The Glasgow club started their scoring in the 26th minute courtesy of Algerian defender Madjid Bougherra who blasted in a shot from 18 yards out after gathering in a Vladimir Weiss cross from the left side.
Rangers were not done as just eight minutes later Nikica Jelavic doubled the margin when he poked in a shot from six yards out.
That was all the scoring Rangers would need as they bounced back nicely from their weekend defeat to Hearts.
Edu and company return to cup competition this weekend when they take the field against Motherwell on Sunday at Hamden Park in Glasgow in the semifinal of the Scottish League Cup.
