CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON - Friday, January 28, 2011
Carlos Bocanegra and St. Etienne will look to push up in the standings while Charlie Davies will likely continue to see time with the Sochaux reserves.

AS Saint-Etienne – Toulouse FC

The Greens continue their pursuit of European action next season on Saturday when a strong Toulouse squad come to town.

Carlos Bocanegra will battle it out in the backline for Les Verts after a two-week break due to Coupe de France action.

Currently in eighth spot with 29 points, the Stephanois sit just a point behind sixth-place Toulouse in rather tight standings overall this season. Two wins would see them in a heated race for second.

Fortunately for skipper Christophe Galtier, St. Etienne can welcome the Toulousains to Stade Geoffroy-Guichard with a full lineup. Only Laurent Batlles is out finishing up a two-match ban for a straight-red during the Coupe de France loss to Clermont Foot.

Toulouse are trying to find their strong season-opening play in which they burst out of the gates with four straight wins.

After winning only once in the subsequent ten games, the Purple and Whites have maintained a win-and-lose pattern since. Their most recent win came two weeks ago at home against AS Nancy Lorraine thanks to a Franck Tabanou strike.

Coach Alain Casanova's short injury list features no regular starters.

Charlie Davies will play with the Sochaux reserve squad on Saturday against SAS Epinal.

Quentin Westberg is not expected to feature when Evian TG FC hosts FC Nantes on Saturday.
