JAMIE HILL - Monday, February 7, 2011
Jeremy Vuolo has become the latest yank to play in Scandinavia after signing a one year contract with AC Oulu of the Finnish Veikkausliiga late last week.

The goalkeeper wrapped up his NCAA career this past fall with the Syracuse Orange, where he started 15 games as a redshirt senior.

Prior to the 2010 season, Vuolo was a three-year starter for Hartwick College before transferring after his redshirt junior year.

"Jeremy Vuolo signed a one year contract with AC Oulu on Friday. In the contract there is also the possibility that Jeremy will play in Oulu in the 2012 season, but that will be decided later," the club's sporting director Mika Nurmela told YA.

Vuolo is expected to be Oulu's starting goalkeeper. The 23-year-old native of Downingtown, PA has already started two games for Oulu in Finland's pre-season League Cup.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
