Maurice Edu and Rangers hook up with Old Firm rivals Celtic yet again in a Scottish Cup fifth round replay on Wednesday at Celtic Park in Glasgow.

Edu looks set to start at midfielder in what shapes up to be a Rangers must-win for many different reasons.

It was just nine days ago that the Hoops drilled their crosstown rivals in Scottish Premier League play by a 3-0 scoreline that left Rangers very low on confidence heading into their Europa League tie with Sporting Lisbon.

But Edu's last second goal in Portugal injected some much-needed life into head coach Walter Smith's squad and that carried over into Sunday's 4-0 thumping of St. Johnstone.

Coupled with Celtic's upset loss at Motherwell, Rangers suddenly find themselves back in the title chase and can send a very strong message to Celtic in this cup replay.

Last month the storied rivals played to a very tense 2-2 draw at Ibrox that had its shares of wonder goals, crunching tackles and intimidation tactics.

The replay at Parkhead should be no different so Edu and company will need to be at their best emerge victorious.

Steven Naismith is suspended for the Light Blues while Vladimir Weiss, Lee McCulloch and Kirk Broadfoot are out injured.

Celtic will be missing normal starting goalkeeper Fraser Forster and Joe Ledley due to suspension.
