A return to Scottish Premier League action is on the docket this weekend for Maurice Edu and Rangers who welcome in surprising Kilmarnock to Ibrox Stadium on Sunday.

Edu looks set to start in his usual place of central midfielder for the Light Blues who are coming off a 0-0 draw with PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of the Round of 16 Europa League match-up.

The US international started and went the distance on Thursday night in what was a positive result for the Glasgow club.

Rangers are hanging tough in the SPL title chase despite their recent losing spell to Celtic in various competitions.

Edu and company still sit five points behind the Hoops with two matches in hand.

Sunday's contest with Killie will offer an intriguing spectacle. The guests have been one of the revelations this year in Scotland and are playing an attractive and aggressive type of soccer under Finnish coach Mixu Paatelainen.

Killie are currently fourth in the SPL with 42 points.

Rangers boss Walter Smith will be missing Lee McCulloch, Kirk Broadfoot, Vladimir Weiss, Sasa Papac, Steve Naismith and Jamie Ness while Killie are without Alexei Eremenko, Mehdi Taouil, Cammy Bell, Rui Miguel and Fraser Wright.
