A disastrous second half doomed any chances of a result for Christian Camacho and Sfintul Gheorghe who were pasted by Moldovan Divizia Nationala co-leaders Sheriff.
Camacho started and went the distance in the resounding defeat.
The only good news for Sfintul following the weekend was that fellow bottom feeder Gagauziya also lost keeping them tied on points at the bottom of the league standings in the race to avoid relegation.
Sfintul hung tough in the first half only allowing a single goal to the 10-time defending league champions.
Nail Zamaliyev's goal in the 23rd gave Sheriff the lead heading into the break.
The second half would turn out to be a completely different story however as the hosts tallied five in the final 45 minutes.
Serghei Gheorghiev doubled the margin in the 47th then 15 minutes later Vladimir Branković extended the lead to three with a goal.
Dalibor Volas scored to make it four in the 79th minute. The dam waters really began to rush in in the final ten minutes as Wilfred Balima knocked in a pair in the 84th and 89th minutes respectively to round out the scoring.
It was a big win for Sheriff who are now tied atop the league standings following Dacia's weekend draw.
Camacho and Sfintul hope to get back on the winning track next Friday April 1st when they take on ninth place Tiraspol.
