Mikkel Diskerud and Stabaek took down heavy hitters Valrenga in the Eliteserien while the always-feisty Steve Clark and Honefoss played to a draw with upstarts Hodd in the 1. Division.

Stabaek 1 - 0 Valerenga

Mikkel Diskerud and Stabaek are clearly back on the right track after their Friday night win at home over Valerenga.

Diskerud started at left midfielder and played the first 65 minutes before yielding his spot to Gilles Ondo.

It was a good win for Stabaek who had been humiliated 0-7 by Lillestrom in their first home match at Telenor Arena.

Valerenga have entered the season as one of the top teams in Norway so the three points earned by the Baerum club could factor greatly in the Eliteserien title chase.

The game's lone goal came in the 38th minute when Veigar Pall Gunnarsson's corner kick was headed into the visiting net by Valerenga defenseman Stefan Strandberg.

Strandberg had been trying to fend off a charging Henning Hauger but instead the defender deposited a low header into his own net.

The Stabaek defense held firm the rest of the way giving Stabaek two straight wins on the young season.

Next up for Diskerud and company is a visit to Josh Gatt's Molde.

Viking 2 - 2 Molde

Josh Gatt was a second half substitute for Molde who still remain winless on the season after their draw with Viking on Monday night at Viking Stadion in Stavanger.

Gatt was brought on in the 59th minute replacing forward Makhtar Thioune.

Molde jumped out to an early lead in the fifth minute on a Davy Claude Agnan goal. Magne Hoseth played a perfect cross over to Agnan who sent a header toward goal only to see Viking goalkeeper Rune Jarstein make a save from point-blank range.

However Jarstein was only able to deflect it right back to Angan who then slotted home for the goal.

Viking responded at the half hour mark with Erik Nevland scored off a pass from Birkir Bjarnason.

Six minutes later Viking had their second goal when Valon Berisha took a pass from Tomasz Sokolowski on the right side and fired toward goal.

The ball took a deflection off a Molde defender and trickled past Molde goalkeeper Bugge Pettersen and into the goal.

Gatt's entrance into the game gave Molde some much-needed momentum and they cashed in 13 minutes from time with another strike from Angan who pounced on a poor clearance from the Viking defense deep in the area and stroked home the equalizer.

Gatt and Molde next head home to face Mikkel Diskerud and Stabaek.

Honefoss 1 - 1 Hodd

Both Steve Clark and Kenenth Di Vita Jensen started for Honefoss who fought to a draw with upstarts Hodd in their 2011 1. Division home debut at AXA Arena in Honefoss.

Clark put in another 90 minutes in goal while Di Vita Jensen was substituted out in the 70th minute for Lennart Steffensen.

It was a frustrating day for Di Vita Jensen who had trouble in attack up front for the hosts plus several turnovers in the Hodd half of the field.

Hodd were the first on the scoreboard when Adama Diomande scored in the 68th minute firing in a half-volley from 16 yards out that knuckled too much for Clark to control and suddenly the newly-promoted visitors had visions of an upset.

But just seven minutes later Honefoss equalized when Leo Olsen's cross from the right side found Joachim Magnussen who scored just in front of the back post.

Hodd had a chance to win it in the final second but Clark came up with a huge save deflecting a rocket from 12 yards out denying the guests of the win.

Next up for Honefoss' American duo is a visit on Sunday to Randaberg.

HamKam 0 - 1 Ranheim

Jonathan Borrajo was the culprit for HamKam scoring an own goal in their defeat at the hands of Ranheim on Sunday in their 1. Division home opener.

Borrajo started at right back for HamKam and went the distance in the unfortunate loss.

The own goal came in just the eighth minute of action when Ranheim played a long cross from the right side that Borrajo looked to have defended well.

Shielding a Ranheim attacker from the ball, Borrajo attempted to chest a pass back to goalkeeper Ivar Ronningen only to see the ball trickle past Ronningen and in for a goal.

Despite several opportunities including a ball off the post in the first half, HamKam were unable to muster up an equalizer as Ranheim walked away with the win.

Borrajo and company will next hit the road this week to face Lov-Ham.

Notes

Joseph Bendik was surprisingly benched and watched on as the backup goalkeeper for Sogndal who fell at Sarpsborg 1-0.

Rhett Bernstein was suspended and Kyle Helton remains injured as the Americans at Mjondalen did not take part in their team's 5-2 destruction of Nybergsund.

Colin Burns watched on as the backup goalkeeper for Sandefjord who drew 1-1 at Bodo/Glimt.
