Herculez Gomez's goal almost led Pachuca to a victory over Queretaro but the eventual draw eliminated Pachuca from playoff contention.
Queretaro 1 - 1 Pachuca
Pachuca was unable to make Herculez Gomez's lone goal stand as late equalizer by Queretaro ended their already slim hopes of advancing to the playoffs.
Already eliminated from playoff contention, Queretaro bid farewell to their fans with a last minute goal by Carlos Bueno, who capitalized on shoddy defending by Pachuca to punt the ball over Pachuca 'keeper Rodolfo Cota.
Bueno's goal ruined an otherwise dominating performance by Pachuca, which controlled the flow of play throughout most of the game.
Gomez gave his team a ray of hope in the 28th minute when he intercepted a clearance pass on the right flank and unleashed a potent shot to the far post that beat Queretaro 'keeper Jorge Alberto Diaz de Leon.
Midfielder Jose Francisco Torres played all 90 minutes but was not a factor in the result.
Irapuato 1 - 2 Club Leon
Marco Vidal played all 90 minutes in his team's intense, come-from-behind victory over Irapuato but did not figure in the final tally.
Irapuato got things going in the 21st minute with a header by Gandhi Vega that beat Leon 'keeper Alfonso Blanco.
After many close calls, Leon finally got on the board in the 50th minute when Mario Ruiz dribbled in from the right side and sent a through ball through the box that found Blas Perez, who slammed the ball past Irapuato 'keeper Adrian Martinez.
Leon piled on the pressure and in the 60th minute Perez put his team in the lead, finishing off a series of passes with a powerful shot that beat Martinez.
Irapuato did not let up and nearly tied the game in the waning moments, but Blanco made an amazing save on a shot by Vega.
With the win, Leon finishes atop the Liga de Ascenso, qualifying directly to the semifinals, and are one step closer to promotion back to the Mexican Primera Division
