US LEARNS DRAW FOR U-17 WORLD CUP

The draw for the 2011 U-17 World Cup was held on Tuesday and the US team was drawn into Group D with the Czech Republic, Uzbekistan, and New Zealand.

The United States eared one of the six seeds for the tournament and they are the only team to have qualified for all 14 U-17 World Cups.

The US will open play on June 19 against the Czech Republic in Torreon followed by Uzbekistan on June 22 at the same location. They will conclude group play against New Zealand on June 25 in Pachuca.

Under the tournament's format, the top two teams in each group along with the top four third place finishers qualify for the second stage.
