NICK LEYDEN - Thursday, June 9, 2011
Eugene Starikov and Tomsk will look to regain their winning ways when they welcome Lokomotiv Moscow to the Trud Stadium on Friday.
After reeling off a seven game undefeated streak Tomsk was soundly beaten by Rubin Kazan in their previous game. The Tomsk faithful, though, will believe that a week off for the Euro 2012 qualifiers has given the Siberians ample time to correct the problems before Lokomotiv arrives.
Starikov will be looking to make his third start in a row for the hosts, and lead the front line against a stingy Lokomotiv defense which has two shutouts in its last three outings.
If the former Stetson Hatter does start he will hope to add to his tally of one goal and take some pressure of midfielder Pavel Golyshev, who has scored more than half of Tomsk's 11 goals this season.
Tomsk sit in ninth place entering the game while the visitors, whose own six game undefeated streak was snapped last round, are currently in fifth place.
