AGF CLARIFY GILMOUR, WOLANSKI TRIAL
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
BRIAN SCIARETTA - Thursday, July 21, 2011
Despite reports to the contrary, Danish Superligaen club AGF Aarhus has refuted news that Cleveland FC duo Connor Gilmour and Bryan Wolanski are on trial.

The club has confirmed, however, that while Gilmour and Wolanski are at Aarhus, they are simply training and not on trial. In addition, the pair are both only 17-years old and a contract would not be permitted under FIFA rules due to their age.

Still the club admits that they are monitoring the to see how they compare with those within the AGF organization

"It's not actually a trial - more to see their level compared to the Danish players," AGF press officer Bo Jensen told YA. "They have trained with our U19-team since Friday, participated in a match for our reserve team, and they are also going to play for our U19 team in a tournament in Denmark in the coming week."

"A contract is not an option at the moment. It is - as mentioned - only to check their level out."

AGF Aarhus was promoted this season from the 1. Division and has been US-friendly over the years with Wade Barrett, Benny Feilhaber and Jeremiah White all calling NRGi Park home since 2004.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
