AZ Alkmaar and American striker Jozy Altidore host NEC Nijmegen on Sunday, while Helmond Sport heads on the road Friday night to face Go Ahead Eagles.

AZ Alkmaar - NEC Nijmegen

Following their midweek 2-1 loss in the Europa League game against Aalesund, AZ will return their focus to the league on Sunday against NEC Nijmegen.

AZ could miss the services of forward Ruud Boymans as he recovers from an injury while midfielder Maarten Martens should see action despite his lingering ankle injury that limited his time against in the midweek game.

Altidore, who started and went 75 minutes on Thursday, could returning to the starting line-up against NEC Nijmegen.

The visitors are coming off a 2-0 victory over Excelsior last weekend thanks to a pair of goals from striker Melvin Platje.

Head coach Alex Pastoor enjoyed a full week of preparation while the hosts played midweek. He hopes to have defender John Goossens back in action this weekend following his early departure against Excelsior due to injury.

Go Ahead Eagles - Helmond Sport

Helmond Sport looks for their first road victory of the season when they travel to face the Go Ahead Eagles on Friday.

Charles Kazlauskas will once again be asked to patrol the right side of midfield for head coach Hans de Koning following their 3-2 victory against Sparta Rotterdam last week.

The visitors have a full healthy roster which should see de Koning choose the best available eleven to start Friday.

The Go Ahead Eagles are coming off a 1-1 draw on the road against Willem II last Friday night thanks to a 61st minute goal from midfielder Marnix Kolder.

Recently named head coach Joop Gall will be without striker Frank van der Zwan as he recovers from injury, but otherwise has a full roster to select from.
