Rangers 2 - 0 Aberdeen

All three Americans played a part of Rangers win at home over Aberdeen with Mauriice Edu and Carlos Bocanegra starting while Alejandro Bedoya came off the bench.

Steven Davis started the scoring in the 15th minute after Nikica Jelavic redirected a deep free kick. Davis made no mistake from in front of the net giving David Gonzalez no chance.

Allan McGregor was tested on multiple occasions but the goalkeeper would not be beaten. Aberdeen's best chance saw McGregor palm Scott Vernon's shot away only for the onrushing Richard Foster to crank his diving header off of the cross bar.

Steven Naismith added another at the death of the game after a mistake from the Aberdeen goalkeeper. Davis' free kick was fumbled inside the area and Naismith took no prisoners as he lashed home his shot to secure the victory.

Bedoya came on with 20 minutes left but the game was already won by that point. Edu and Naismith picked up the yellow cards for Rangers as Youl Mawene was booked for Aberdeen.

Up next for the Gersis is a trip to Dundee United after the international window

Notes:

Dominic Cervi was not named to the bench as Celtic beat St. Mirren 2-0.
