DAVID SMITH - Wednesday, October 19, 2011
Steve Clark and Kenneth Di Vita Jensen will try to move into the Adeccoligaen's promotion spots when they visit struggling Asker in a crucial make-up game.

Asker - Hønefoss BK

After the weekend's explosive 5-0 win over already-relegated Nybergsund, Steve Clark and Kenneth Di Vita Jensen will hope they can manage a similar performance when they hit the road to face Asker.

This game had originally been scheduled to take place during the recent window for international play, however with Hønefoss actually having several players called up for national team duty - something usually not a consideration in the Adeccoligaen's scheduling concerns - the game was delayed until Wednesday.

Their 5-0 drubbing of Nybergsund over the weekend kept Hønefoss squarely in the final push of five teams fighting it out for the division's two promotion spots, and a win on Wednesday will give them full control over their own destiny.

Should they take the three points, they will rise to second place, tied with Ham-Kam on points but holding the advantage based on goal differential with just a pair of games left.

Based on recent play by both teams, a win should be in the cards as Asker have now gone five straight without tasking victory, most recently being blown out by Mjøndalen over the weekend.

While they are three points ahead of Strømmen and hold a significantly better goal differential in their attempt to avoid the drop, any positive result will serve to give them some breathing room and make the final weeks of the season less of a worry.

Asker will be missing defender Ulrik Arneberg, who picked up a straight red card in the weekend's loss, while Hønefoss are reporting no absences to their squad.

Colin Burns will be on Sandefjord's bench on Wednesday as they try to rise into the Adeccoligaen's promotion spots on their visit to Kongsvinger IL.
