Liverpool FC today announced today that they have signed former US U-17 international midfielder Marc Pelosi.

The club announced the deal today on their website.

Pelosi, 17, was the captain of the US U-17 this past summer at the World Cup help in Mexico. He played for the US team 28 times and scored a total of eight goals.

Pelosi was born in Germany and is a dual citizen with Germany and the United States. His EU citizenship allows him to bypass the work permit restrictions that often restrict American players from playing in England.

Pelosi is the second American signed by Liverpool in recent weeks. In August they signed US U-18 international Villyan Bijev who they subsequently loaned to Fortuna Dusseldorf
