ANDREW VORCE - Monday, November 14, 2011
Dominic Cervi was beaten twice as Greenock Morton let their early lead slip at home to Dundee.
The fans in the stadium erupted when Andrew Jackson gave the home team the early lead. Just five minutes after the opening whistle, Paul Di Giacomo carved out a chance before finding Jackson in the box who slotted home from close range.
Dundee got the all important equalizing goal just three minutes before half time. Gavin Rae put the game on even terms for the halftime break in the 42nd minute as Ryan Conroy found him in the box. Rae kept his composure and beat Cervi for to tie things up.
Dundee kept that momentum going forward and got the go ahead goal int he 56th minute. Conroy continued to give Morton problems as he turned from provider to goal scorer. Jake Hyde sent in the cross just before going out of bounds, with Conroy finishing from the center of the penalty box with a left footed shot to ensure all three points went Dundee's way.
Mortons Grant Evans was the only player to be booked. Up next for Morton is a third round SFA Cup game at home to Deveronvale.
