PREVIEW: LASK LINZ - ST. PÖLTEN
CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON - Friday, November 25, 2011
Linz return home to the Gugl with a rejuvenated squad to make a final push for points before the winter break.
Defender Shawn Barry can expect a starting nod from coach Walter Schachner, as the Linz eleven need to diminish their six-point deficit from first place with two games before the three-month intermission.
The good news for Schachner is the return of Hannes Aigner, Florian Hart and Ulrich Winkler to the lineup from suspension. The bad news is that the revolving door of suspensions has swallowed up Robert Schellander and his five yellow cards, the latest picked up last Friday in a 1-1 stalemate against FC Lustenau 1907.
St. Pölten's future looks bright after a hard-fought 3-2 toppling of the league leaders WAC/St. Andrä last Friday. Team-leading net disturber Daniel Lucas Segovia notched his twelfth tally in that game, bringing the Spaniard into second in the league.
The two squads drew in their previous meeting this season, but Linz had the upper hand the first time out, winning 2-0 at home on the Gugl.
