Diego Restrepo earned the start for America de Cali on Saturday for the Colombian Clausura quarterfinals but the club played to a disappointing draw at home to Once Caldas in the first leg.

Restrepo was named the starter after normal first choice keeper Julian Viafara was suspended after a failed drug test.

America de Cali took an immediate advantage in the sixth minute when Once Caldas' John Fredy Pajoy was sent off with a straight red card.

America de Cali controlled most of the game but was unable to find the back of the net.

Once Caldas best opportunity of the game came in the 79th minute when Jose Moreno ripped a shot from 18 yards but Restrepo was able to push the ball just wide.

The second leg of the quarterfinals will be on Thursday as the series moves to Once Caldas' Estadio Palogrande
