JOHN KRETLOW - Friday, December 9, 2011
Brad Guzan looks for his first start of the season in Aston Villa's clash with Bolton, while Tim Howard and Everton travel to London to play Arsenal.

Arsenal - Everton

Tim Howard and Everton look to forget last week's loss as they take on Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.

Howard started and went the distance in Everton's loss to Stoke City last week. He will get the start once again this weekend.

Everton find themselves in tenth place in the standings with 16 points. They loss last week but had won two straight games prior to that. The Toffees look to get back to winning ways on Saturday.

Arsenal are currently in fifth place in the Premier League and hoping to continue their march up the standings after a difficult start to the season. They lost to Olympiakos in midweek Champions League action but they hope to reverse their luck against Everton.

Abou Diaby, Craig Eastmond, Carl Jenkinson, Kieran Gibbs, Bacary Sagna, and Jack Wilshere are injured and will be sidelined for Arsenal.

Victor Anichebe will miss for the Toffees.

Stoke City - Tottenham Hotspur

Brad Friedel and Tottenham Hotspur travel this Sunday to play Stoke City at Britannia Stadium.

Friedel started and went 90 minutes in last week's win over Bolton. He will start once again for Spurs.

Tottenham are the winners of six league games in a row and are flying high in third place in the standings. They trail Manchester United by just two points while still having a game in hand.

Stoke find themselves in eight place in the standings. They have beaten Everton and Blackburn for two straight weeks and hope to add Spurs on their list.

The Potters will be without Mamady Sidibé.

Danny Rose, Niko Kranjcar, Michael Dawson, and Tom Huddlestone are injured and will be sidelined for Spurs.

Swansea City - Fulham

Clint Dempsey and Fulham travel to play Swansea City in Saturday premier League action.

Dempsey started and went the distance in Monday's win over Liverpool. He should again be in the starting lineup for the Cottagers.

The Texan scored the lone goal in Fulham's victory on Monday, becoming the leading goal scorer for all Americans in Premier League history.

Fulham needed the win over Liverpool badly, since they were hovering close to the relegation zone. They are five points above it now but will not want to slip up this Saturday.

Swansea City are just one point behind Fulham and just four points above the relegation zone. They have not won a Premier League game since October.

Ferrie Bodde, Angel Rangel, and Alan Tate will miss for Swansea.

Fulham will be without Simon Davies and Zdenek Grygera.

Bolton Wanderers - Aston Villa

Brad Guzan looks for this season's first Premier League start in Aston Villa's clash with Bolton.

Guzan subbed in for the injured Shay Given last week and should get the start at Bolton.

Stuart Holden is still recovering from knee surgery and will miss for Bolton, while Villa's Eric Lichaj is also recovering from injury,

Bolton have just won one game in their last six in the Premier League. They are deep in the relegation zone and will need to start winning games to climb out of it.

Villa are coming off a loss to Manchester United. Their last win came over a month ago versus Norwich City.

Tyrone Mears, Sean Davis, Sam Ricketts, and Chung-Yong Lee will miss for Bolton due to injury. David Wheater is out due to suspension.

Birmingham City - Doncaster Rovers

Jonathan Spector and Birmingham City host Doncaster Rovers in a Championship clash.

Spector started and went the distance in City's midweek loss to Hull City. He is likely to feature once again for Birmingham.

City have lost three games in a row in all competitions and are in need of a win. They are in 14th place in the standings but hold two games in hand to most teams in the league.

Doncaster find themselves deep in the relegation zone and will need to start winning games to climb out of it. They beat Southampton last week and hope to make it back to back wins this weekend.

Liam Ridgewell and Jordon Mutch are questionable to feature because of injuries for Birmingham.

Zak Whitbread hopes to feature in Norwich City's game against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Conor Doyle looks for playing time in Derby County's clash with Bristol City.

Robbie Findley could see the field in Nottingham Forest's game against Crystal Palace.

Cody Cropper could make the game day roster in Ipswich Town's game against Barnsley.

Mike Grella hopes to feature in Brentford's game against Hartlepool United.

Anton Peterlin could feature in Walsall's clash with Charlton Athletic.

Frank Simek is injured and will not play in Carlisle United's match with Scunthorpe United.

John Paul Pittman hopes to come off the bench in Crawley Town's game versus Burton Albion.

Jemal Johnson is likely not to feature in Southend United's game against Cheltenham Town.
