BRIAN SCIARETTA - Friday, January 27, 2012
After an impressive two game road trip that earned six points, third place Wellington Phoenix return home to host fourth place Melbourne Heart in a crucial A-League game at Westpac Stadium on Saturday.

Alex Smith is likely to start for Wellington Phoenix in the midfield where he has become an important part of the team's success.

The game is a remarkable opportunity for Wellington as they currently sit in third place and trail the defending champions Brisbane Roar by only two points for second place and an automatic spot in the Final Series Playoffs.

Melbourne Heart are only trailing Wellington by one point so the standings remain tight towards the top of the A-League table. Melbourne were at one time expected to contend for first place in the A-League but they have not won a game in their previous five.

Melbourne Heart will be missing Fred, Nick Kalmar, and Kliment Taseski while Wayne Srjoj is questionable.

Wellinton Phoenix will be without Manny Muscat whose wife is expecting to give birth on Saturday. Vince Lia is doubtful with a knee injury and Nick Ward is questionable.
