MICHAEL ADUBATO - Monday, January 30, 2012
FC Ingolstadt's Edson Buddle has decided not to sign with Belgian Pro League team KVC Westerlo.

"He left last week," team secretary Ann Maertens told Yanks Abroad. "We were expecting him to sign last week just before the St. Trond game."

The American striker left the Los Angeles Galaxy after three and a half seasons and signed on with the German second division outfit in January 2011 on a free transfer. Before arriving in Belgium, the New Yorker spent some time on trial with Everton of the English Premiership.

"He decided not to sign," Ms. Maertens stated. "As far as we know, he returned to his German team."

At this juncture in his career and being 31 years old; he should just return to MLS. Sorry Buddle it was always going to be against you at the age of 30 to join a decent european team when you left the Galaxy. Either come back to MLS or join a Mexican team like Beasley.

Sorry YA, but Buddle was part of the LA Galaxy when he joined Ingolstadt. He also played with the NY Red Bulls before that.

I'm pretty certain Buddle left the Galaxy at the end of the 2010 campaign.

That sux! Hopefully he has something better lined up. Ingolstadt is NOT a better option!
